Welcome to the website of Stirling Gaelic Choir
Here we are, celebrating after our wonderful result at the 2019 National Mod in Glasgow. Stirling Gaelic Choir, winners of the Margrat Duncan Trophy and the John McNicol trophy (for the highest marks in Gaelic), along with the Silver Baton for our conductor, Jane McQueen.
What makes this extra special is that the John McNicol trophy was originally presented by the Stirling branch of An Comunn Gaidhealach. So the trophy has come home!
We are all over the moon and very proud with having achieved this result. This is the second year in a row that the choir has won the Margrat Duncan competition and, before 2018, the last time we won this prestigious award was in 1966. We have worked hard and are happy with what we've been able to accomplish as a choir.
After the challenges presented by lockdown, we are happy to say that we are now back to meeting in person every Wednesday at the Logie Kirk Hall. As always, we would be happy to welcome new members.
Whether you are a fluent Gaelic speaker, or a complete beginner with an interest in learning a bit about the language, or whether you just enjoy Gaelic music and culture, we will welcome you and find a place for you. You do not need to be a Gaelic speaker; we have a tutor who helps us to learn the words of our songs
